Citation & Verification Card

Every source behind the block — and how solid each citation is

Read this first

Two levels of citation appear in these products. Verified means the wording or figure was checked against the source document itself. Chapter-level means the content is correct doctrine but the exact paragraph number was not confirmed — so it is cited to the publication or chapter rather than to a paragraph. No paragraph number appears in these products that was not verified.

If you need paragraph-level citations for a board or a formal lesson plan, pull the publications from armypubs.army.mil and add them.

Figures reproduced in these products

The uniform plates in the deck and pocket book are reproduced directly from DA PAM 670-1 (26 January 2021), a US Government work approved for public release. The hair, tattoo-zone and inspection-sweep drawings are original diagrams built from the measurements in AD 2025-18 and AD 2022-09, because no current official figure reflects the 2025 grooming changes.

Read the date on the plates. DA PAM 670-1 is dated 26 January 2021 and predates AD 2025-18. Use the pamphlet for insignia placement; use AD 2025-18 for hair, fingernails, cosmetics and earrings. Where the two differ, the directive controls.

Perishable content — check before every delivery

  • AD 2025-18 directs incorporation into AR 670-1 within one year and is rescinded when the revised regulation publishes. If AR 670-1 has been reissued, slides 25–32 and pocket book pages 10–15 need updating.
  • AD 2025-13 facial hair implementation guidance is still developing. Confirm phase requirements with your medical provider and S-1.
  • TC 7-22.7 was reissued August 2025. Confirm no newer edition before citing.
  • Unit and command policies may be more restrictive than AR 670-1.
  • DA PAM 670-1 will be revised when AR 670-1 is reissued — re-pull the plates at that point.
